REQUIREMENTS
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
- The competition is open to art and design students registered at an educational institution for art and design including disciplines such as fine arts, graphic design, communication design, visual communication, media design and other related disciplines. The educational institution must be based in one of the 25 EU Member States. Students need to provide proof of registration at an institution of higher education.
- Students may either register for the competition individually or their school/university may enter them for the competition provided that the student has given his/her consent.
- Team entries are allowed; teams may consist of a maximum of 3 students. If a team entry wins the competition, the prize will be equally split among all team members.
- Each participant / group may enter a maximum of three poster visuals.
- Participants should keep copies of all material submitted as entries will not be returned.
- All participants need to register for the competition by completing an entry form
- Entry deadline is 31 July 2006.
POSTER REQUIREMENTS
- The poster motif should visualise the topic of "Breaking Stereotypes" and promote diversity as a positive concept to a young audience.
- A poster copy is not mandatory. If included, the copy itself will not be a major judgement criterion. The copy should not exceed 40 characters incl. spaces and should preferably be in English, German or French; however, poster texts in all 20 EU languages will be accepted.
- The poster design should have a universal appeal for people all across the EU.
- The campaign logo and the EU flag must be integrated into the design, please click here to download the graphics.
- Posters must be submitted digitally either by post on CD ROM or uploaded using the online entry form.
- Posters must be submitted in one the following formats: as printable PDF, or printable open format in Indesign, QuarkXpress, Illustrator, Freehand or Photoshop. Please provide your submission in both of the following resolutions:
- 72 dpi (max. file size 1 MB)
- 300dpi (DIN A2, max. file size 5 MB) - Contributions must have a title and can include a short explanation using a maximum of 150 words.
- No copyrighted material may be used for the design.
- No original photo material may be used for the poster design without the written consent of the parties depicted.
The European Commission will reserve the right to utilise the contributed visuals for presentation and media use and to reproduce all entries for promotional purposes within the framework of the EU anti-discrimination campaign and the Community Action Programme to Combat Discrimination. This includes the entries' publication in a special winner's catalogue.

- For pre-viewing purposes in 72 dpi (jpg, tif, pdf) , max 1 MB
- For printing purposes in 300 dpi (printable PDF), A2 format, max. 5 MB
